Open the simulator
Open your project and select the iPhone or Android app in the platform switcher above the preview. Start the preview if it is stopped, then wait for your app to finish building and appear on screen. An iPhone app runs in the iOS simulator. An Android app runs in the Android emulator. Both support the screen capture controls below. Use the preview to click through your app and scroll through its screens. When something needs changing, describe it in the chat. You can attach a screenshot or recording to show Rork what you mean.Screen capture
The toolbar above the simulator has two buttons: Screenshot, with a camera icon, and Record, with a video camera icon. They become available once your app is running.Take a screenshot
- Open the screen you want to capture in the simulator.
- Click Screenshot in the toolbar.
- The image appears as an attachment in your chat draft. Add a message describing what you want to change, then press Send message.
Record the screen
- Open the screen where you want the recording to begin.
- Click Record and wait for the three-second countdown.
- Use your app as usual. Click through screens or repeat the interaction you want to show. A red border and timer indicate that recording is active.
- Click the red stop button beside the timer when you are done. Rork saves the video and attaches it to your chat draft.
- Add a message and send it when you want Rork to act on the recording.
Download and share a capture
Click the screenshot or video attachment to open it, then use Download in the preview. Recordings download as MP4 files. You can share the file in a post, send it to a friend, or use it to ask for feedback. Capturing adds the file to your draft; you choose whether to send a message to Rork.Common questions
